South Bend Cubs Add Infielder Sutton Whiting

SOUTH BEND, IN -The South Bend Cubs added an infielder to their roster today while Carlos Sepulveda was placed on the disabled list.
Sutton Whiting comes to South Bend from Triple-A Iowa were he received his first at-bat of the season Monday night.
Whiting was a 24th round pick of the Chicago Cubs in 2015 out of the University of Louisville. The Pennsylvania native spent time last season with the Cubs affiliates in Mesa, Eugene, Myrtle Beach and Tennessee.
The 23-year old infielder has 72 career minor league at-bats with an average of .250 with a .357 on base percentage.
His career at the University of Louisville included being named to the All-ACC team in 2015 and second team All-Big East in 2013. Whiting hit .274 in 208 career games (185 starts) with the Cardinals.
Sepulveda was placed on the disabled list retroactive to April 8. The 19-year old started on opening day for South Bend but has not played since.
The South Bend Cubs host the Bowling Green Hot Rods at Four Winds Field tonight at 7:05pm(ET).
