Charlotte, NC --- Jaime Schultz worked six shutout innings en route to his first Triple-A win as Durham blanked Charlotte 2-0 to open a 10-game road trip.

Schultz (W, 1-0) permitted just two hits and one walk, then watched as Durham's pen closed out its first shutout of the season. Dylan Floro worked the seventh and eighth, with Tyler Sturdevant (S, 1) nailing down the save with two strikeouts in the ninth.

Luke Maile, Schultz's batterymate, caught the shutout and went 3-3 at the plate with two doubles and an infield single that produced Durham's second run. Taylor Motter slugged a solo homer in the fourth giving Durham a 1-0 lead against Erik Johnson (L, 0-1).

The victory spoiled the home opener for the Knights (2-5) before a sellout crowd of 10,479 at BB&T Ballpark.

Durham (5-3) remained one game behind South leading Gwinnett.

The four-game series continues Friday night with Austin Pruitt (1-0, 1.50) opposing Charlotte's Chris Beck (0-0, 1.80) at 7:05 PM ET.
