Frawley Stadium to Host Fourth-Annual Dover vs. Pocono Celebrity Softball Game
Wilmington, DE-Austin Dillon and Kasey Kahne have proven their skill behind the wheel of a car going 200 miles per hour. Now they are going to show what they can do with a bat. The Wilmington Blue Rocks are proud to announce that Frawley Stadium will be the site for the fourth ever Team Dover vs. Team Pocono Celebrity Softball Game on Tuesday, May 3rd, which will feature both Spring Cup Series drivers.
This will be the fourth time that members of Team Dover (from the Dover International Speedway in Dover, DE) and Team Pocono (from Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA) will take to the diamond to see who will come out triumphant. The "Monster Mile" team (Team Dover) has won two of the previous three meetings against "The Tricky Triangle" (Team Dover). The event will feature NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Austin Dillon and Kasey Kahne, along with Todd Bodine, two-time NASCAR Camping Truck Series Champion and current Fox Sports 1 analyst. Teams will be comprised from members of each speedway plus members of national and local motorsports media, as well as other local media personalities.
Fans wishing to attend the celebrity softball game can get in for free by purchasing a ticket to the May 3rd game later than evening between the Wilmington Blue Rocks and Frederick Keys. Tickets for the game are $6 for Reserve Box seats and are $7 for Box/Upper Box Seats with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. The Blue Rocks will also be offering those special discounted ticket prices to any fan that walks up to the window wearing NASCAR paraphernalia. All children 12 and younger will receive free admission to the Blue Rocks' Fun Zone. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. for the softball game with the first underhanded pitch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. Following the game, time permitting, Dillon and Kahne will throw out the first pitch for that evening's 6:35 p.m. baseball game.
Throughout the softball and baseball games, both tracks will be promoting and giving away tickets to their respective NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races being held on Sunday, May 15 (Dover) and Sunday, June 5 (Pocono).
NASCAR returns to Dover International Speedway May 13-15, 2016 and includes the Camping Truck Series race on Friday, May 13, the NASCAR XFINITY Series Dash 4 Cash race on Saturday, May 14 and the "AAA 400 Drive for Autism" NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rac eon Sunday, May 15. Three weeks later, Pocono Raceway will host their Axalta "We Paint Winners" 400 race weekend from June 3-5, 2016.
