Conference Carolinas Baseball Tournament

April 21, 2016

Burlington Athletic Stadium will once again play host as the Conference Carolinas Baseball tournament. The weekend full of baseball will start on April 28th at 11am. The tournament will conclude on May 1st.

The top 3 teams in the conference are separated by just one game in conference play (going in to April 21). If the tournament started today, Erskine would be the top seed. Erskine is the top hitting team in the league by a big margin. They're hitting .353 as a team. Barton is second in the league hitting .322 as a team. North Greenville has the best team ERA in the league at a stunning 3.14. They're almost a full point better than second place Barton, who is sporting a 4.04 ERA.

Few players to watch in this tournament include Calvin Hawke and Andrew Webster of Barton, and Brighton Hudson of Mount Olive. Hawke leads the league with a .429 batting average and his teammate Webster has hit nine homeruns and driven in a league best 57 RBI. Hudson leads the league with a 2.09 ERA and is a pitch to contact guy. While he doesn't miss many bats, Hudson gets the job done and should be fun to watch next weekend.

Tickets are available for purchase at the gate on a daily basis, and also for the entire weekend. Burlington Royals season ticket holders are admitted at no charge.
