Bulls Riding High Into Monday After Big Win
The Durham Bulls look to pick up some momentum against Indianapolis on Monday at the DBAP, after a raucous 6-1 win over the Indians on Sunday.
Right-hander Austin Pruitt (2-0) and his league-leading 27 strikeouts take the mound for the Bulls (10-8). Pruitt has pitched a quality start each of his times out this season, and has had the most run support from the offense as they have 15 runs behind his pitching.
Chad Kuhl (1-0), another righty, will start at pitcher for the Indians (8-7). Kuhl only has eight strikeouts, but also has only two walks in his two starts this season.
Richie Shaffer will try to stay hot for the Bulls, after he clubbed a pair of home runs in a 3 for 4 effort on Sunday. Kyle Roller also homered and had a single to extend his on-base streak to 10 games. Eight of the nine Durham batters had a hit last night, combining to go 12 for 36.
