Chiefs Rained Out in Ohio Saturday

DH Set for 1pm Eastern Sunday
April 30, 2016

Eastlake, OH - The Peoria Chiefs and Lake County Captains game scheduled for Saturday night in Ohio has been postponed due to rain. The two teams will attempt to play a double header at 1:00 p.m. Eastern on Sunday in the final meetings between the teams this season.

This marks the second time in a row the Chiefs have had a game postponed on their trip to the Cleveland area. On April 15, 2014 the teams were snowed out and the Chiefs won both games of the next day's double header 4-0. Sunday will be the first double header for the Chiefs in 2016 though they did have a game postponed by weather on April 8 in Burlington. That contest will be made up as part of a double header in June.

The Chiefs will start RH Junior Fernandez (2-1, 2.57) in game one and RH Brennan Leitao (1-1, 1.80) in game two. Lake County is scheduled to start LH Sam Hentges (1-1, 5.63) in game one and RH Matt Esparza (3-1, 5.12) in game two. The broadcast can be heard, starting with the Pre-Game Show at 12:45 p.m. Eastern, on www.peoriachiefs.com/listenlive which also has downloads for a free app on the iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Android. The broadcast is also available on the Peoria Chiefs Network in the Tune-In Radio App.

After Sunday's double header the Chiefs return home to Dozer park for a six-game homestand against the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays) and Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds). Tickets for all six games are available online at peoriachiefs.com and by calling 1-866-MYTICKET. A full promotional schedule for the home stand, plus game times, are also available at peoriachiefs.com
