Alvarez ties career high with six RBI
May 3, 2016

Dariel Alvarez had four hits and six RBI and Ariel Miranda fired six shutout innings as Norfolk rolled to an 8-0 win at Louisville Tuesday night.

Alvarez singled three times and doubled in the contest as Norfolk knocked off Louisville for the first time this season. His six runs batted in tied a career-high, last set on May 19, 2014 when he was with Double-A Bowie.

Audry Perez helped pace Norfolk's 15-hit attack with three hits, while Xavier Avery had two doubles, two walks and a stolen base. Trey Mancini and Paul Janish each added two hits in the win.

The offense was more than enough for Miranda (1-1), who earned his first Triple-A victory with six scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and three walks while striking out six as he lowered his ERA to 3.33 through five starts this season.

Richard Rodriguez and Edgar Olmos worked the final three innings to complete the shutout, which was Norfolk's second of the season.

The Tides and Bats conclude their three-game set on Wednesday morning from Slugger Field, with first pitch slated for 11:05 am. Odrisamer Despaigne gets the start for Norfolk, with coverage on ESPN Radio set for 10:50 am.
