Oaks Add Young Talent To Broadcast Booth

VISALIA, CA - The Visalia Oaks Professional Baseball team, in its continuing effort to increase its staff, has hired two new broadcasters for the 2007 season. With the additions, the California League Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks now has seven new arrivals to the Front Office.

Dave Garson has been elevated to the #1broadcasting position following the departure of Toby Hyde. Hyde recently accepted a position with the AAA Iowa Cubs. Garson will assume the title of Regional Marketing and Broadcasting Manager, handling the majority of the radio broadcasts and continuing his regional sales efforts. At just 22 years of age, he is one of the youngest broadcasters in the California League. He hails from Philadelphia, PA where he attended the University of Pennsylvania and founded two sports television stations called QUEST TV Networks.

Josh Rogol , a Northwestern University graduate, joins the Oaks from Connecticut to become the Website and Media Relations Manager. Recently, Josh worked for Army Sports Properties/Learfield Sports in West Point, NY, assisting with marketing and public relations efforts for the U.S. Military Academy. Josh has a strong background in website design and radio production having interned for both NBC Sports and WNUR radio in Evanston, Illinois. His main responsibilities with the Oaks will involve Web site maintenance, media relations duties, and play-by-play for select home and road games.

"This is the first year that the club has had two media relations executives, which gives us the opportunity to greatly expand our outreach into Tulare and Kings counties. We will have a very proactive presence through media, print publications (including our first-ever media guide), and a dynamic website. Fans will be better informed about the ballclub, the players, and the exciting ballpark renovation project," Team President, Tom Seidler.

The Oaks have also hired Michigan native Mark McCarty as full-time Head Groundskeeper, a position that had previously been part-time. Mark comes to Visalia after spending two seasons as the groundskeeper for the Camden Riversharks of the Atlantic League.
