O'HEARN, GORE JOIN NATURALS ROSTER

May 6, 2016

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are happy to announce that 22-year-old first baseman Ryan O'Hearn and 24-year-old outfielder Terrance Gore have been added to the Naturals' roster. In conjunction with these moves outfielder Carlos Garcia and catcher Zane Evans have been placed on the 7-day disabled list.

O'Hearn, drafted in the eighth round of the 2014 Amateur Player Draft, was an offensive machine for the Blue Rocks in the beginning of the 2016 season; he hit .352 with seven home runs and 18 RBI. O'Hearn will platoon with Frank Schwindel and Mauricio Ramos at first base during his time in Northwest Arkansas this season. Ryan has swung the bat well throughout his entire professional career. In 2014 he hit .361 with 13 home runs and 54 RBI for Rookie level Idaho Falls, eventually being named the team's MVP and selected as a Post-Season All-Star. Last season, O'Hearn batted .263 with 27 home runs and 77 RBI between A (Full) Lexington and A (Adv) Wilmington, being named a Mid-Season All-Star with Lexington and Player of the Week (8/17/2015) with Wilmington. Through his first two games with the Naturals, O'Hearn has turned many heads with his powerful swing and brick-wall defense at first. He launched his first Naturals home run in the bottom of the 9th inning of Tuesday's game vs. the Springfield Cardinals and picked up two RBI.

Terrance Gore, drafted in the 20th round of the 2011 Amateur Player Draft, rejoins the Naturals after beginning the 2016 season with the Kansas City Royals. Gore spent the entirety of the 2015 regular season in Northwest Arkansas, but was called up to Kansas City in October for the Royals' postseason run. The five-foot seven-inch 165-pound speed demon specializes in base stealing; he swiped 39 bags last season for the Naturals. Gore stole a couple of bases in four games for the Royals this season, showing that his speed is dangerous, even at the Major League level. Gore will most likely see time in left and center field for the Naturals.
