Shuckers and Suns to salute Negro League Baseball with special uniforms

Both teams will be decked out in throwback uniforms to salute the Negro Leagues

Join the Biloxi Shuckers on Thursday night as the Biloxi Shuckers and Jacksonville Suns salute the Negro Baseball Leagues and recognize the Biloxi Dodgers, a member of the Gulf Coast Negro League. 

The Shuckers and Suns will wear retro Negro League uniforms represented the following teams: The Shuckers will wear jerseys of the Memphis Red Sox, New York Cubans, Birmingham Black Barons, Homestead Grays, Kansas City Monarchs, Indianapolis Clowns, Pittsburgh Crawfords, Chattanooga Choo-Choos and Newark Eagles. Jacksonville will wear jerseys of the Jacksonville Red Caps, Detroit Stars, Baltimore Black Sox, Brooklyn Eagles, Cleveland Buckeyes, Brooklyn Royal Giants, Philadelphia Stars, Baltimore Elite Giants and Washington Homestead Grays.

First pitch is set for 6:40 pm with gates opening at 5:30 pm. Thursday is also another Double Play Thursday, featuring $2 hot dogs and regular soft drinks and $2 off select draft beer and reserved level tickets. 

The current homestand will conclude on Friday at 7:10 pm with post-game fireworks following the game. The Shuckers will embark on a 13-game road trip to Chattanooga (5), Tennessee (5) and Mobile (3) following the homestand. Thuckers won't return to MGM Park until May 27. 

Tickets for individual regular season games are currently on-sale and may be purchased by visiting the MGM Park box office or any Ticketmaster outlet.
