Tides Release Promotional Schedule

The Norfolk Tides will kick off its 2011 home campaign on Saturday, April 16 when the Charlotte Knights visit town, and the first 10,000 fans to enter the park will receive a magnet schedule compliments of Bank of the Commonwealth and ESPN Radio. The giveaway is one of the many promotions that will be featured throughout the Tides 72-game home schedule in 2011.

The promotional schedule will feature nine spectacular fireworks shows. The season's first post-game fireworks show is scheduled for Saturday, April 23 after the Tides host the Durham Bulls. USAA Members as well as active and retired military members will receive discounted tickets to the game with ID.The Norfolk Tides announced their 2011 promotional schedule on Thursday.

In addition, the Tides will celebrate Independence Day Weekend with three-consecutive nights of fireworks from July 1-3.

The Tides will dedicate three separate nights during the season to honor the brave men and women that have defended our country. On May 21, the Tides will pay tribute to the Armed Forces on Saturday, May 21; the Marine Corps on Saturday, June 18; and the Navy on Saturday, August 6. Post-game fireworks will follow each game, and retired and active military personnel will receive discounted ticket offers with ID compliments of Navy Mutual Aid.

Once again, the Tides will welcome back The Zooperstars! on Friday, June 10 and Friday, August 19 as well as Reggy! on Saturday, July 23.

The Tides will host a pre-game concert starring "Don't Stop Believin" on Saturday, May 28. The Journey tribute band will start their show at 6:00 p.m. First pitch to the night's game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

The fan-favorite, "Turn Back the Clock Night," which features $0.50 Gwaltney hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Cola products will take place on Sunday, May 29.

In addition, the first 4,000 fans to enter the ballpark each Sunday game between May 8 - August 21 will receive a player photograph compliments of Bank of the Commonwealth and Max Media.
