Smokies Continue Homestand on Thursday

Salute to Heroes Night, Jake Arrieta Bobblehead, Fireworks among promotions

SEVIERVILLE - The Tennessee Smokies continue their ten-game homestand on Thursday, May 19, with the final five-game set against the Biloxi Shuckers, the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Among the highlights for the fantastic final five contests are the Postgame Fireworks on Friday and Saturday, the Smokies' annual Salute to Heroes night on Saturday and a Jake Arrieta bobblehead giveaway on Sunday.

The series kicks off on Thursday, May 19 with a Coors Light Thirsty Thursday. Fans will be able to enjoy drink specials throughout the evening. Patrons can purchase draft beers and soft drinks for as low as just $1 dollar to celebrate the upcoming weekend. It will also be Zumba Night presented by Gold's Gym. From 5:45 to 6:15 p.m. there will be a Zumba class held on the Smokies Stadium field, as well as special on-field games throughout the contest. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Friday, May 20 will be Daddy-Daughter Date Night at Smokies Stadium. Patrons can purchase a package that includes two tickets, two meal vouchers, a Smokies cap, a pink foam finger and a pink Smokies' logo baseball for less than $60 dollars. One special father and daughter will also have the opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the game. It will also be Monsters and Princesses Night. The festivities will include a special appearance by Ariel from The Little Mermaid and unique on-field games, music and videoboard graphics during the game. Following the final out, there will be a spectacular Postgame Fireworks display presented by Pepsi, Coors Light, WIVK, WVLT and the Knoxville News Sentinel. The matchup gets underway at 7:05 p.m.

The Smokies will honor the brave men and women that defend our country on Saturday, May 21 with the organization's annual Salute to Heroes Night presented by the Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union. There will be a special on-field ceremony prior to the game to pay tribute to our local heroes who have risked and gave their lives protecting our freedom and way of life. The festivites will also include a special enlistment ceremony as local residents will be sworn into the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. will also As a part of the celebration, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a Military Card Set Giveaway courtesy of Food City and Peter Pan. Like all Saturday home games, there will be a wonderful Postgame Fireworks show presented by Alzheimer's Tennessee. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First pitch on Saturday is slated for 7:05 p.m.

The homestand continues on Sunday, May 22 with the Smokies' first of four bobblehead giveaways in 2016. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Jake Arrieta Bobblehead courtesy of Financial Services, Inc. It will also be Strike Out Epilepsy Night presented by Lundbeck Pharmacuetical and Epilepsy Foundation of East Tennessee. It will also be a U.S. Cellular Family FUNday. Fans will able to take advantage of a special ticket package that includes four tickets, four meal vouchers and two Kids Zone wristbands for only $48 dollars. Sunday's matinee is scheduled for a 2:05 p.m. first pitch.

Finally, the homestand wraps up on Monday, May 23 with a McGhee Tyson Airport Dollar Monday. Fans will be able to purchase hot dogs, popcorn, small Pepsi products and programs for only one dollar. Monday's contest will get underway at 7:05 p.m.
