Sky Sox To Host Southern Colorado High School All-Star Game

Games will take place at Security Service Field on Monday, May 30th starting at 10:00am

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox are proud to announce that Security Service Field will host the 55th Annual Southern Colorado High School All-Star Games, the longest running High School All-Star event in Colorado. This year's classic will be the fifth consecutive year the event has been held at Security Service Field. The games will be held on Monday, May 30th, starting at 10:00am with the Junior All-Star Game and will be followed by the Senior All-Star Game at roughly 1:00pm or 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

The Southern Colorado High School All-Star Games have been featuring the top players in the Junior and Senior class from the Colorado Springs region in a two-game event since 1962. The Junior All-Star Game includes the top Juniors from around Southern Colorado with teams consisting of a mixture of 5A, 4A and 3A All-Stars. they are selected from a college showcase camp held at Cheyenne Mountain High School. The Senior All-Star Game showcases the top senior standout players from the Colorado Springs area, with the best 5A, 4A, and 3A players facing off against each other in this Summer Classic.  

"As the home of professional baseball here in Colorado Springs, we are very proud to continue our partnership with our local high schools to bring this event back to Security Service Field," Sky Sox President and General Manager Tony Ensor said. "Our goal has been to make this annual event a crowning moment for all the players involved, recognizing all their achievements in High School and rewarding them for the many years of sacrifice and hard work it has taken them to get to this point in their baseball life. This even serves to showcase and raise awareness of the tremendous baseball talent we have here in Southern Colorado."

Famous Southern Colorado All-Star Game participants from the 53-year history of the game include Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Goose Gossage from Wasson High School, the number one overall draft pick in the 1986 Draft Jeff King from Rampart High School, as well as current major leaguers Brandon McCarthy from Cheyenne Mountain High School and Chase Headley from Fountain-Fort Carson High School.

Fans wanting to attend the All-Star Games can purchase tickets for $8 for adults and $5 for any child 12 and under and students with valid student ID. The Box Office will open at 7:30am on Monday, May 30th. Fans who wish to purchase All-Star game tickets in advanced can visit the Stadium Box Office Monday - Friday 9am-5pm or call 719-591SOXX. Parking will be free for the event and Concession stands will be open throughout the day.
