LANCASTER, Calif. - The Lancaster JetHawks hit six home runs to propel them over the Stockton Ports on Thursday night at The Hangar, 29-11, a franchise record for runs scored.

Bobby Boyd led the way with one of two grand slams in the game for the JetHawks (21-24) and drove in nine. Jason Martin went 5-for-5 with a walk, six RBI, and four runs scored to aid the 23-hit attack. His three-run homer highlighted a seven-run Lancaster third inning. Bryan Muniz hit two home runs for the JetHawks.

Stockton (19-28) jumped ahead 3-0 in the opening frame, but the lead did not last long. The JetHawks scored four in the second inning and led the rest of the way. They batted around three times in the game.

The Ports did make a game of it in the middle innings. With the JetHawks leading 11-4, Stockton scored six times in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 11-10. However, the JetHawks immediately responded with eight in the bottom of the fourth and cruised from there. Ramon Laureano hit a grand slam, his first home run of the season.

Stockton's James Harris came a triple shy of the cycle and drove in four. The Ports had 15 hits on the night, but committed three errors. Laureano, Muniz, and Jamie Ritchie all had three-hit nights for the JetHawks.

Alex Winkelman allowed all six Stockton runs in the fourth inning, but responded to toss a pair of shutout frames after that in his High-A debut. Ryan Deemes (1-0) gave up just one run in the final three innings and struck out three to earn his first victory of the season.

Stockton starter Brett Graves (2-5) took the loss, allowing seven hits and 10 runs (eight earned) in 2.1 innings.

The JetHawks open a four-game series against the High Desert Mavericks on Friday night The Hangar. Dean Deetz (2-1) will start for Lancaster. First pitch is 6:35 p.m.
