Brewers' Pitcher Matt Garza Joins Timber Rattlers for Rehab Assignment

GRAND CHUTE, WI - Milwaukee Brewers' starting pitcher Matt Garza will join the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Tuesday in Peoria, Illinois on a minor league rehabilitation assignment . Garza is scheduled to make two starts for the Timber Rattlers this week - tomorrow against the Peoria Chiefs and Saturday at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium against the Kane County Cougars.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, "Garza was placed on the 15-day disabled list [on April 5], retroactive to April 2, with a strained right lat behind his shoulder. He suffered the injury April 1 while making a start in an exhibition game against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park."

Saturday's home game will be a big night for Timber Rattlers fans. It is Star Wars™ Night with players and coaches donning special jerseys based on the film series and there will be a silent auction during the game for the jerseys with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin. Characters from the movies will be out at the ballpark, too. Additionally, there is a postgame fireworks display courtesy of Festival Foods. After the fireworks, children 14 and under may run the bases courtesy of Tundraland. 

Game time on Saturday is 6:35pm. The parking lot opens at 4:00pm and the gates to the stadium open at 5:00pm. Fans are encouraged to get to the ballpark early on Saturday night.
