Storm Offense Comes Alive in 12-1 Win

The Storm had a season high 18 hits and tied a season high in runs scored on Friday night, beating the Mavericks 12-1. Starting pitcher Matt Lollis threw 5.0 innings allowing one run off one home run and striking out eight. Relievers Zach Herr, Erik Hamren and Miles Mikolas finished the game allowing two hits and no runs with seven strikeouts combined.

Offensively for the Storm, first baseman Nate Freiman took home star of the game honors going 2-for-5 with two runs scored, five RBI and two home runs. Third baseman Jedd Gyorko continued his hitting streak to 10 games after going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double and three RBI. During Gyorko's impressive hitting streak, the West Virginia native is 19 of 38 with seven doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI. He now leads the team in batting average hitting .410 to date. Dh Edinson Rincon added four hits and one RBI as well, going 4-for-5 at the plate on Friday night.

The Storm look to take the series in the final game of the the three-game series at The Diamond on Saturday night at 7:05pm. Also, the team will be giving away Storm Beanie Hats to the first 1500 fans through the main gates. Gates open at 6:00pm.
