Brewers reinstate Santana, Bradley traded to Atlanta
BILOXI, MS. - The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the following roster moves that affect the Shuckers roster prior to tonight's 7:10 pm contest against the Mississippi Braves at MGM Park LHP Jed Bradley was traded from Milwaukee to Atlanta and assigned to AA Mississippi and OF Domingo Santana was reinstated from 15-day DL by the Brewers, ending his rehab assignment
Bradley, 25, who was transferred from Biloxi's roster to rookie Helena on May 26 will join the current Biloxi opponent, the Mississippi Braves and be active for tonight's game. Bradley was traded by the Brewers to the Atlanta Braves on Friday morning for cash considerations or a player to be named later. Bradley was 3-2 with a 6.20 ERA in 17 relief appearances with the Shuckers this season. He was originally selected as the Brewers first round pick (15th overall) in the 2011 draft. The Huntsville, AL, native was originally selected by the Brewers in the first round of the 2011 draft out of Georgia Tech.
Santana, 23, has been reinstated by the Milwaukee Brewers from the 15-day disabled list, joining the club in Philadelphia. Santana played in three rehab games for the Shuckers going 2-for-6 with a home run, two runs scored, four walks and one RBI. Santana was recovering from shoulder soreness and was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 20 (retroactive to May 19). In 36 games this season, the native of the Dominican Republic has a .239 batting average with seven doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI.
The Shuckers current roster is made up of 25 active players and one on the disabled list.
The Shuckers continue their current homestand with the Mississippi Braves, tonight at 7:10 pm. RHP Jorge Ortega (0-4, 3.88) seeks his first win of the season for the Shuckers, while RHP Rob Whalen (3-4, 3.04) looks to take the series for the Braves. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m., with coverage starting at 6:50 p.m. on the Biloxi Shuckers' Radio Network's flagship station WGCM 1240 AM, 100.9 FM, Pascagoula's WPMO 1580 AM and the TuneIn Radio app.
The first 1,000 fans through the gate tonight will receive a Biloxi Shuckers T-Shirt, presented by the Mississippi National Guard. Gates will open at 6:00 pm. The homestand concludes on Saturday night at 7:10 pm with Post-Game Fireworks following.
