Summary
Eric Haase capped off his 3-for-6 day with a two-run home run to win the game for Akron as the RubberDucks took down the Bowie Baysox 7-6 in 13 innings Friday night at Prince George's Stadium.
Turning Point
With the game tied 5-5 in the top of the 13th inning, Eric Haase launched a two-run home run over the right field fence to give Akron a 7-5 lead. The rally started with a leadoff walk from Nellie Rodriguez. The homer came off of Jon Keller and was Haase's 5th of the season.
Winging It
Adam Plutko settled down after a shaky first inning to deliver a strong seven and one-third innings. After allowing four runs in the first, Plutko only gave up one run in the next six and one-thirds innings of work. The right-hander finished allowing five runs on ten hits while striking out six and walking none. Perci Garner was solid out of the bullpen, working a scoreless three and two-thirds innings and allowing just one hit with two strikeouts. Robbie Aviles worked the final two innings of the contest, allowing one run on three hits and picking up his second win of the season.
Duck Tales
Haase was 3-for-6 on the night, with a double and two runs batted in via the aforementioned homer. Todd Hankins also delivered a three hit performance, going 3-for-7 while adding a double. Clint Frazier had one hit on the night, but it was a big one, driving in three runs with a double in the top of the fifth. The bases clearing double brings his RBI total to 25 on the season.
