Local favorites, healthy options on ballpark menu
The State College Spikes are unveiling another tasty assortment of food and beverage options for fans to enjoy during the 2016 season at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The diverse menu includes an array of items sure to satisfy any fan's appetite when watching a Spikes game this summer.
Leading off this lineup of new additions is the new Bradley's Cheesesteaks stand at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Fans can enjoy the same authentic Philadelphia taste of Bradley's Downtown State College location at the ballpark while enjoying the action this season. The new Bradley's stand will be located on the third-base side.
Fans of all ages can also enjoy ballpark fare designed to fit your healthy eating habits with new gluten-free chicken tenders, chicken tender wraps and chicken Caesar wraps available at the Flashpointe Grille behind Section 105. These healthy treats will also allow many more fans to share in the ballpark eating experience without worry at each Spikes home game.
The Spikes' slate of delicious desserts also gets a new addition with World Famous Grilled Stickies from Ye Olde College Diner available at the Sweet concession stand on the first-base side. These legendary buns have been in demand for years, and fans can now enjoy them with Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream on top.
Plus, Rita's Water Ice makes its debut at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park this season at a new stand located next to Salsa behind Section 106. Rita's is the perfect treat for when you need to beat the summer heat, and fans are sure to enjoy the fantastic flavor selection.
In addition, the 2016 beverage menu also has more new options for fans 21 and up, starting with Beer Hunter Mango-Lemon Double IPA. Brewed by Robin Hood Brewing Co. in partnership with the Spikes, this finely crafted brew will be available at multiple ballpark locations, including the new Good Hops inside Broken Bat BBQ on the third-base side. Beer Hunter Mango-Lemon Double IPA will also be available at Home D Pizzeria and Robin Hood Brewing Co. locations in State College and Bellefonte.
Fans of age can also enjoy Not Your Father's Root Beer, the hard root beer joining the beverage roster this season. Not Your Father's Root Beer will be on special for Father's Day, and fans can indulge in Hard Root Beer Floats throughout the season, consisting of Not Your Father's Root Beer served with Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream.
The feasting doesn't stop there, either, because Rosie's Pierogies will now be available at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Whether as the perfect topping for the new Rosie's Pierogies Burger or as a delectable dish on their own, Spikes fans can savor Rosie's Pierogies every night at Burgertopia in right field.
Fans looking for deals on food can also take advantage of two new entries on the Daily Fan Value Promotions schedule. $2 Walking Taco Tuesdays, presented by B94.5, offer fans a delicious Walking Taco for just two Washingtons at each Tuesday home game. Half-Craft Wednesdays, presented by 93.7 The BUS, will give fans 21 and up a chance to enjoy the full array of craft beers at half-price from 6-8 p.m. during each Wednesday home game this season.
The first chance to enjoy the bevy of new ballpark food and drink options this summer will be on Saturday, June 18 with Opening Night, presented by PSECU and Newsradio 1390 WRSC. The Spikes' slate of 16 giveaway nights this year begins with a Spikes Schedule Magnet Giveaway for the first 2,500 fans. After the game, the skies over Happy Valley will light up for the first of 12 FIREWORKS shows to dazzle Spikes fans this season.
