Randy LeBlanc named Midwest League Player of the Month for May

Cedar Rapids, IA - Minor League Baseball announced today that Kernels pitcher Randy LeBlanc was named the Midwest League Player of the Month for May.

LeBlanc, who was recently promoted to Fort Myers, posted a 4-0 record and 0.24 ERA in five May starts. On May 11 vs. Kane County, he threw a complete game four hit shutout where he walked two and struck out six, throwing just 94 pitches. In 37 IP, he allowed one run on 24 hits while striking out 21 and walking six. Opposing batters hit just .185 against him in May.

The Twins selected LeBlanc in the 10th round of the 2014 First Year Player Draft out of Tulane University.

LeBlanc, as Player of the Month, joins fellow pitcher Fernando Romero and catcher A.J. Murray, who received Midwest League Player and Pitcher of the Week awards during the month of May.

The Kernels continue a six game, seven day home stand tonight at 6:35 PM vs. Kane County. Gates open at 5:30 PM and the current home stand continues through Thursday, June 9th.
