Cutters, WRAK renew radio deal

Station will also be part of Phillies broadcast network
February 26, 2007
The Williamsport Crosscutters and WRAK radio have jointly announced the renewal of an agreement for WRAK to broadcast Williamsport Crosscutters games in 2007. In addition, WRAK will also be the home to Philadelphia Phillies broadcasts for the first time since 1994.

A total of 32 Crosscutters road games will be carried on the WRAK airwaves (1200 AM/1400 AM). In addition all games broadcast can be heard around the world via the Internet at www.Crosscutters.com.

Adam Marco will handle Cutters' play-by-play in 2007. Marco has done radio play-by-play for Mercyhurst and Thiel colleges and several high schools. He has previously worked at radio stations in Erie, Pittsburgh, Meadville, Kinston (N.C.) and Youngstown (Ohio).

"After calling sports at the high school and college level for a number of years, I'm eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to broadcast Minor League Baseball games with WRAK and the Williamsport Crosscutters," remarked Marco. Cutters Marketing Director Gabe Sinicropi stated, "We're thrilled that we were able to meet Adam at Baseball's Winter Meetings in Orlando last December. He's a talented individual who will be a great fit on our staff. We feel that fans will enjoy hearing him call the Cutters' first season with the Phillies."

WRAK also announced that they will be part of the Philadelphia Phillies Broadcast Network in 2007, carrying a total of 100 games.

WRAK General Manager Jim Dabney said, "It's been a long time since the Phillies had a broadcast affiliate in Williamsport, the mid-90's, in fact. With the Crosscutters affiliating with Philadelphia this year and the Phils having a talented team that is expected to do great things, we thought it would be a great fit." Sinicropi added, "Having the big-league club back on local radio was very important to us as we begin, what we hope is a long-lasting relationship with the Philadelphia Phillies. We're extremely happy to have WRAK as the radio home to both the Phillies and Crosscutters in '07."

The first Phillies broadcast on WRAK will be April 4 at 6:30 p.m. as Philadelphia hosts the Atlanta Braves. The Cutters' first broadcast will be the June 20 game at State College. Radio sponsorships are available by calling WRAK at (570) 327-1400.
