Pawsox Unveil Additional Plans For Tomorrow's "Free Brady Friday"
Tomorrow night's "Free Brady Friday" will now feature visits from WEEI's Jerry Thornton and New England's End Zone Militia. The first 3,000 fans will receive unique placards reading, "Keep your Paws off our Quarterback!"
When the Pawtucket Red Sox play host to the Louisville Bats at 7:05 p.m. at McCoy Stadium, all whose names are Tom or Brady (or both!) will be admitted free (with valid ID). Tickets normally priced at $13 will be priced at $12 in honor of the quarterback's uniform number. The PawSox will donate a "quarter back" of each ticket sold to Best Buddies, a favorite charity of the football star. Representatives of the organization will be on hand to participate in the ceremonies.
Thornton, who appears on the Dale & Holley Show on WEEI Radio, is also a stand-up comic. He will entertain the crowd before throwing a Ceremonial First Pitch, then will meet fans during the game at the PawSox Fan Center.
The militia comprises serious Revolutionary War re-enactors who dress up and perform, muskets and all, at New England Patriots games. The birth of the militia came in 1996 with the New England Revolution. They are legendary performers on Sundays in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Each Friday, the PawSox provide a free giveaway. The season-long promotion is called "Free [Blank] Friday," with a particular item filling in the blank each time. The club has presented Free Photo Fridays and Free Buck Fridays. Tomorrow's is the first Free Brady Friday.
The promotion launches a weekend of popular activities. On SuperSox Saturday, only a few tickets remain for Star Wars Fireworks. Then on Sunday after the game, families can have a catch on the field with "Field of Dreams" actor Dwier Brown, who will reprise his role in the memorable final scene role as John Kinsella, Kevin Costner's father as a young man.
Tickets and details are available at pawsox.com.
