Meet Nitro on American Gladiators Night: 6/30

Our Throwback Thursday Night series at Fifth Third Field continues on June 30, as we turn back the clock to 1989 for American Gladiators Night! Meet Nitro during the game and enjoy our unique gladiator-style competition with a Grand Champion being crowned during the game.     

American Gladiators invaded our homes in 1989 and quickly became the premier competition television program in the U.S. Nitro, one of the most well-known gladiators, will invade Fifth Third Field! He will be available for pictures and autographs on the main concourse. 

 

Gladiator Competition

Our resident Fifth Third Field Gladiators will be four Toledo Walleye players and one Toledo Walleye coaching staff member:

• Alden Hirschfeld - Center
• Dan Jones - Strength and Conditioning Coach
• Michael Leone - Forward
• Jared Nightingale - Defensemen
• Austin Wuthrich - Forward

They will face off in a series of seven physical challenges during inning breaks. At the end of the game, one of our competitors will be named the Grand Champion! American Gladiator Night will also feature our favorite video clips, music and more from the hit TV show throughout the game.
