First Choctaw Lazy River Thursday Night Pool Party sold out

First night for individual sales in new area sells out
June 16, 2016

FRISCO, TEXAS (June 16, 2016) - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, have announced that the first "Thursday Night Pool Party," a night where individuals and small groups can purchase tickets for the Choctaw Lazy River, has sold out Thursday night. The area sold over 200 tickets and was at capacity for Thursday's doubleheader with the Corpus Christi Hooks (Houston Astros).

For only $39 per ticket, a Thursday Night Pool Party ticket allows individuals to enjoy full 360-degree Lazy River access, pre-game live music, and all-you-can-eat hot dogs, brats, chips, peanuts, and Dr Pepper products. Plus, each Thursday is "Thirsty Thursday," offering $1 select domestic drafts and $2 craft beers from 6-8 p.m. for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Today, with a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 p.m., the Choctaw Lazy River was open starting at 4:00 p.m. and Thirsty Thursday specials ran from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Filled with over 68,000 gallons of water and complete with 18-foot water curtains and a 113-linear-foot waterfall, the Choctaw Lazy River is the largest body of water in a professional sports venue. The lazy river itself is large enough to fit over 1 million baseballs and nearly a half-million bottles of Dr Pepper. Dirk Nowitzki christened the Choctaw Lazy River last Thursday, calling it "awesome" after floating around the 400-foot figure-eight.

The hospitality area has been booked by groups for each of the six RoughRiders home games since it opened for Riders games on Saturday, June 11. Limited availability remains for the Choctaw Lazy River, including the final five Thursday Night Pool Parties. The next Thursday Night Pool Party will take place next Thursday, June 23, for a 7:05 p.m. game against Corpus Christi.

Tickets for the remaining dates in the Choctaw Lazy River and seats for any other area in the ballpark for games during the 2016 season are available now online at RidersBaseball.com, via email at [email protected], over the phone at (972) 731-9200, or in-person at the RoughRiders box office. The RoughRiders host 70 games in total through Labor Day, September 5.
