Rosters set for All-Star game
The South Atlantic League All-Star rosters have been revised, due to promotions and injuries, and the league announced the current rosters Friday, June 17.
The release below is from the South Atlantic League office and contains the updated roster for the South Atlantic League All-Star teams. The game will be played Tuesday night, June 21 at 7:05 p.m. at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Among the injured players is Chase Vallot of the Lexington Legends, who had been selected as the starting catcher for the Southern Division, but will be unable to play. He was hit in the face by a pitch in the Legends June 14 game against West Virginia, and has been placed on the disabled list.
One more change has been made since the updated roster was released: David Thompson of Columbia, who was to be the starting third baseman for the Southern Division, was injured in Columbia's game Thursday night and will not play. He will be replaced by Mitchell Gunsolus of Greenville.

The batting practice/autograph sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, June 21 beginning at 2:45 p.m.
2:30 p.m. - Gates open (fans must have an All-Star game ticket for admission).
2:45 - 3:15 p.m. The Northern Division team will sign autographs for fans.
2:45 - 3:30 p.m. The Southern Division team will take batting practice.
3:45 - 4:15 p.m. The Southern Division team will sign autographs.
3:45 - 4:30 p.m. The Northern Division team will take batting practice.
The "Legendary Derby," a variation of home run derby, is scheduled for 4:45 to 6 p.m. and will involve All-Star players and celebrities, who will be paired with each other in teams as they complete to win on behalf of a charitable organization.
Following the game, fans can remain in their seats for Mega Blast, the biggest fireworks show in the ballpark's history.

UPDATED ROSTERS ANNOUNCED FOR 57TH ANNUAL SAL ALL-STAR GAME
CLEARWATER, FL-Eric Krupa, president of the South Atlantic League, has announced updates to the rosters for the 57th Annual SAL All-Star Game, scheduled to be played on June 21, 2016, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, Kentucky, home of the Lexington Legends. For the Northern Division, there are two changes to the pitching staff. Greensboro's Ben Holmes and Kannapolis' Tanner Banks have been promoted. Replacing them on the roster will be Hickory's Jeffrey Springs and Lakewood's Luke Leftwich. There were two additional changes to the Northern Division roster. Hagerstown's Kelvin Gutierrez is injured and will not play in Tuesday's game and Greensboro's Josh Naylor will not be available for the game. West Virginia's Daniel Arribas will now be the starting first baseman for the North. West Virginia's Ke'Bryan Hayes moves from utility infielder to starting third baseman. Kannapolis' Danny Mendick has been named as a utility infielder for the Northern squad. Turning to the Southern Division lineup, there are five changes to the pitching staff. Augusta pitchers Phil Bickford and Michael Santos, Greenville's Roniel Raudes and Charleston's Daris Vargas will not be available for Tuesday's game. Charleston's Nestor Cortes was named as a replacement, but he will now not be available for Tuesday's game. Augusta's Caleb Smith, Charleston's Christian Morris, Columbia's Alex Palsha and Greenville's Anyelo Leclerc fill the pitching slots for the South. Also, Lexington's Chase Vallot is injured and will not be able to play in Tuesday's game. Rome's Jonathan Morales becomes the starting catcher and Greenville's Austin Rei will be the third catcher for the Southern squad. * * * * *
