Brevard County trounced by Lakeland 14-5

'Tees give up 20 hits, commit three errors

VIERA, Fla. -- The Brevard County Manatees allowed a season-high in both runs and hits as the Lakeland Flying Tigers pounded the 'Tees 14-5 on Sunday evening at Space Coast Stadium.

Lakeland (12-12) roped 20 hits, including eight for extra-bases and went 10-for-28 with runners in scoring position.

Manatees (10-14) starting pitcher Adrian Rosario allowed four runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings. Brevard County's bullpen fared even worse as the trio of Trey Watten, Efrain Nieves and Jonathan Pokorny combined to allow 10 runs (seven earned) on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings of work.

For Brevard County at the plate, Hunter Morris went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Both Scooter Gennett, who's 21st birthday was today, and Brock Kjeldgaard each had two RBI.

The rubber game of this three-game set will be on Monday morning at 10:35 a.m. The Manatees will send Maverick Lasker to the mound (0-4, 5.82), while the Flying Tigers will counter with Victor Larez (2-2, 4.03).
