KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (June 22, 2016) - There's been an awakening. Have you felt it?

The Kannapolis Intimidators open the Second Half of the 2016 season at home with a seven-game home stand June 23-29 featuring Star Wars Night on Saturday, June 25, with special Star Wars themed jerseys, a light saber giveaway for the first 100 kids, character appearances, and post-game fireworks set to the iconic Star Wars soundtrack. The Intimidators are scheduled to face the Delmarva Shorebirds (Baltimore Orioles) for four games June 23-26 following by a three-game set against the Rome Braves (Atlanta Braves) from June 27-29.

By using the garbage compactors on the detention level, the Intimidators have crammed several fan-favorite promotions into this week's games. The home stand starts with a Thirsty Thursday presented by Buffalo Wild Wings on June 23 and continues with Craft Beer Sampling presented by Cabarrus Brewing Company and Sonny's BBQ on Friday, June 24. Children are invited to Sunday's Kids Day presented by Cornerstone Church where they can make the Kessell Run around the bases after the game. 

Much to learn, you still have … about the upcoming home stand which features weekly staples Kids Day Sunday presented by Cornerstone Church, Belly Buster Monday, and Arby's Two-for-Tuesday. The Intimidators last played a long time ago, in a ballpark far, far away when they finished the First Half of the season in Lakewood, N.J. Kannapolis opens the Second Half of the season on Thursday at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System.

The Intimidators start the Second Half with Thirsty Thursday presented by Buffalo Wild Wings at Exit 54/Afton Ridge Shopping Center. Enjoy discounted drinks all game long at the beer garden, craft beer corner, and concessions stands. Following each Thursday game, fans can play Launch-A-Ball presented by Dick's Sporting Goods for a chance to win Intimidators prize packs and tickets to future games. This week's Launch-A-Ball prizes includes a 4-pack of free tickets to Saturday's big Star Wars Night game.

It's Freebie Friday, and the first 500 fans receive a free pair of sunglasses courtesy of Cabarrus Eye Center. Fans 21 and older are invited to our second Craft Beer Sampling Series game featuring Cabarrus Brewing Company and Foothills Brewery. This week's Craft Beer Sampling game is presented by Sonny's BBQ, who will be catering the event for the first 100 fans that sign up. Come try some of the most delicious brews in the Kannapolis area for the perfect marriage of beer and baseball. The Craft Beer Sampling Series package includes a reserved seat ticket, Sonny's BBQ, access to a private craft beer sampling area, and souvenir Intimidators mug all for only $20 when purchased in advance.

Friday's game is also Get Healthy Kannapolis, presented by the City of Kannapolis, the Cabarrus Health Alliance, and Crossfit Crib. Fans can complete a physical challenge at the box office to receive a reserved ticket for only $5. Plus enjoy 2-for-1 deals on healthy snacks at the Intimidators concessions stands.

The Force is strong with this night. Star Wars takes center stage on Saturday as the Intimidators don special Star Wars themed jerseys, which will be auctioned off with proceeds benefitting the Cabarrus County Education Foundation. The game will feature Star Wars character appearances, Star Wars trivia, and a post-game fireworks show presented by the SpringHill Suites in Concord set to the Star Wars soundtrack. Fans are encouraged to wear Star Wars gear and dress up as their favorite characters from the series for the game.

This Sunday's game, bring the kids to play various carnival-style games on the concourse all game long. These carnival games are free to play with a chance to win Intimidators prizes. Sundays are also Kid's Day presented by Cornerstone Church featuring player autographs before the game and post-game kids run the bases. Tickets for kids (ages 4-12) are only $5 in both reserved and general admission sections as part of Kids Day Sunday. 

It's Charity Spotlight Night presented by ACN, Inc. This season, the Intimidators welcome local non-profits and local cause groups to raise money and awareness for their organization at an Intimidators game through our ACN Charity Spotlight Nights. Bring your appetite to the ballpark for Belly Buster Night. For just $10, fans can purchase an all-you-can-eat wristband for a never-ending menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken tenders, fries, popcorn, funnel cakes, and more (excludes drinks, candy, and third-party vendors). Monday games are also Kannapolis Citizens Appreciation nights with free admission to Kannapolis residents courtesy of the City of Kannapolis (with proof of residency - i.e., driver's license, electric bills, etc.).

Tuesday features Arby's Two-for-Tuesdays where fans can purchase 2-for-1 tickets with any Arby's proof-of-purchase at all Tuesday night games in 2016. This week's deals include 2-for-1 brats at the main concessions stand, 2-for-1 small popcorn at the snack shack, and 2-for-1 black logo baseballs in the Intimidation Station team store. Tuesday is Senior Club Night presented by Five Oaks Manor, Kelli Y. Allen Elder Law, PruittHealth Hospice, PruittHealth Town Center, Sterne Agee, Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis, and Trinity Oaks. Skip work and head out to the ballpark early for a 12:05 p.m. game on Wednesday, June 29, as the Intimidators host the Braves in the finale of this 7-game home stand. It's the Intimidators annual Camp Day game, and local camp groups can reserved discounted tickets to the game when ordering in advance.

The Intimidators are currently playing the 22nd season of professional baseball in Kannapolis and 16th season as a Chicago White Sox affiliate. Since the team's inception in 1995, a total of 90 players have gone from Kannapolis to the Major Leagues.
