Celtics' Jae Crowder Coming to Hadlock on August 2nd
PORTLAND, MAINE - Boston Celtics forward Jae Crowder is scheduled to make an appearance at Hadlock Field on Tuesday, August 2nd, when the Sea Dogs host the Erie SeaWolves at 7:00 PM. Crowder's appearance at Hadlock Field is presented by Asylum Sports Bar and Grill.
Crowder will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and will be available to sign free autographs on photos provided by the Sea Dogs for fans from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
Crowder was acquired by the Celtics on December 18, 2014, along with Jameer Nelson, Brandan Wright, and 2016 1st and 2nd round draft picks from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Rajon Rondo and Dwight Powell. He was originally selected in the 2nd round (34th overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Crowder appeared in 73 regular season games (all starts) for Boston in the 2015-16 season and averaged 14.2 points and 5.1 rebounds over 31.6 minutes per game, while shooting 44.3% from the floor and 33.6% from three-point range. Over his five-year career, Crowder has played in 311 games (114 starts) for Boston and Dallas and averaged 7.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, with a career shooting percentage of 42.6%.
The Sea Dogs, the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have hosted several Boston athletes at Hadlock Field over the past few years, including Rob Gronkowski (2011), Patrick Chung (2012), Shawn Thornton (2012), Rob Ninkovich (2013), Trot Nixon (2014), Shane Vereen (2014), Marcus Smart (2014), Malcolm Butler (2015), Kelly Olynyk (2015), Terry O'Reilly (2015), Dion Lewis (2016), and Bill Buckner (2016).
