Help the Bees Help One of Our Own!

May 4, 2011
BURLINGTON, IA- The family of Burlington Bees Grounds Keeping Intern Cody Wales lost their home (pictured above) in the recent Alabama tornadoes and the Bees are taking up a collection to try and help his family rebuild their lives. Fans that want to help are asked to donate cash only at this time and can do so in two ways: by donating money at the souvenir shop inside Community Field or by sending a check payable to the Cody Wales Family Benefit to the Bees Front Office at 2712 Mt. Pleasant Street, P.O. Box 824, Burlington, IA 52601.

"We are asking everyone who has called with material donations to please keep those donations for a later date," said Burlington Bees General Manager Chuck Brockett. "Thankfully no one in Cody's family was hurt. He's currently in Alabama visiting his family and once we hear from him what they need, we'll open up our collection to include household items."

The Bees next home stand starts Friday, May 13 against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at 6:30 p.m. 2011 Bees tickets are on sale now! To purchase season tickets, bonus books or single game tickets, please give the Bees a call at (319) 754-5705, go online to www.gobees.com, or stop by the box office at Community Field during normal business hours
