Caleb Joseph Scheduled to Rejoin Keys on MLB Rehab Monday
Frederick, Md. -On Monday, Orioles catcher, Caleb Joseph, is scheduled to return to the Frederick Keys on a Major League rehab assignment. With the Keys during their final first half homestand, Joseph, 30, is slated to catch, as he continues his recovery from a testicular injury suffered on May 30 against the Boston Red Sox.
In three games with the orange and black, the Tennessee native hit .400 (4-for-10) with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. He recorded multi-hit games with the orange and black in both contests he took part in last weekend. Transferred earlier this week to Double-A Bowie on his MLB rehab, Joseph is batting a combined .323 (10-for-28) during his rehab.
Originally selected by Baltimore in the seventh round of the 2008 draft, Joseph got his first taste of the Carolina League in 2009. That season he batted .284 with 12 home runs and 60 RBIs in 104 games and was named both a Carolina League midseason and postseason all-star.
The Keys return home on Monday to play the Carolina Mudcats. Right-hander Lucas Long (4-4, 4.30) starts for the orange and black and will be opposed by Muddies righty Max Povse (5-4, 3.51). First pitch is slated for 7:00 p.m and the broadcast can be heard on 1450 AM The Source and frederickkeys.com. For tickets, fans can call the Keys at 301-815-9939 or visit frederickkeys.com.
