Andrew Stevenson Named Carolina League Player of the Week

Woodbridge, VA---The Carolina League announced today that Potomac Nationals' CF Andrew Stevenson has been named the Carolina League Player of the Week for the week of June 20th to June 26th. It is the first "Player of the Week" award for Potomac this season and second overall weekly award garnered by a Potomac player this season. RHP Boone Whiting took home "Pitcher of the Week" for the week of 6/6-6/12.

Just recently promoted to Double-A Harrisburg, Stevenson finished off his time with Potomac with seven hits in three games. The outfielder hit .500 with two doubles, one triple, one RBI, and scored six runs over the three starts after the All-Star Break.

In addition to the weekly award, Stevenson took home the MVP award from the California/Carolina League All-Star Game in Lake Elsinore, CA. In route to the recognition, the former LSU Tiger went 3-5 with two RBI triples and two runs scored in the Carolina League's 6-4 victory.

Prior to his promotion to Harrisburg on June 27th, Stevenson hit .304 with one home run and 18 RBIs with Potomac. Over 68 games with the P-Nats, the outfielder had 12 doubles, a league best eight triples, and tallied 27 stolen bases. Drafted out of LSU in the second round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals, Stevenson has hit .306 over four levels and will get his first chance in Double-A with the Senators.
