High winds in Buffalo push revelation to Thursday afternoon
March 5, 2007
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Today's scheduled unveiling of the Buffalo Bisons new billboard on the Kensington Expressway has been postponed because of high winds.

Buster T. Bison, the mascot of the Buffalo Bisons, will now be hoisted up onto the team's new billboard on Thursday, March 8 at 2:15 p.m. Buster will help Lamar Advertising roll out a sign reminding fans that Opening Day is on Thursday, April 5.

The billboard is the first one motorists see as they get onto the outbound Kensington Expressway from the city (heading east). Interested media are encouraged to take Michigan St. to Cherry St. where there is street parking and a small parking lot.

Bisons Vice President/General Manager Mike Buczkowski will be onsite and available for comment.

Buster will begin preparing for the unveiling at 2:00 p.m. At 2:15 p.m., a lift will carry Buster up to the billboard where he will climb out and help unveil the sign.

The Bisons have moved their Ticket Sales Event on the Dunn Tire Park plaza to Friday, March 9 from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to stop on down and enjoy a free hot dog, Coca-Cola product and coffee (while supplies last), get their tickets for the upcoming season and talk a little baseball. On Friday, there will only be 27 days until the Bisons open up the 2007 regular season against the Richmond Braves on Thursday, April 5, at 3:05 p.m. at Dunn Tire Park.

All fans will be entered to win a Bisons jacket (no purchase necessary). Buster T. Bison will be on hand for the festivities and the Batter's Box Gift shop will be open until 3:00 p.m. so fans can pick up the new styles of Bisons gear.
