Reading Hits The Road, Looks For Wins
The Reading Phillies started off their homestand with a three-game sweep of the
Portland Sea Dogs they ended it, however, by getting swept by New Hampshire.
Yesterday, Reading fell to the Fisher Cats by a score of 10-5, failing to end a two-game
losing streak against a club they swept earlier in the season. Reading starter J.C.
Ramirez lasted just 2.2 innings, and allowed six runs three earned, on two hits. He
was saddled with his first loss of the season, after winning all four of his previous
starts.
Reading (16-10) hits the road for six games today, as they travel to Harrisburg to take on
the Senators for a three-game series (Friday-Sunday). Reading, who is on a three-game
losing skid, has yet to face the Senators this season. Last season, Reading struggled
against Harrisburg dropping 14 of the 16 games they played each other. They'll look
for some success today from one of their promising young starters.
Tonight, at 7:00 p.m., Reading will send RHP Austin Hyatt (3-1, 3.00) to the hill to take
on the first-place Senators (14-12). Hyatt, a native of Atlanta, GA, won his last outing
of the season, which came back on May 1 against Portland. The 24-year-old allowed two runs
on five hits over six innings to earn the win.
Taking the ball for the Senators on Friday evening will be RHP Erik Davis (1-0, 3.05).
Davis, a native of Stanford, CA, allowed six runs five earned, over five innings in
his last start of the year. He won his only game of the season on April 26 against
Altoona. He tossed six shutout innings against the Curve in that game.
