Pitchers Urena and Ogando, manager Beyeler receive suspensions
July 1, 2016

The Pacific Coast League has announced disciplinary action stemming from the on-field incident between the New Orleans Zephyrs and Memphis Redbirds last Monday at AutoZone Park.

Jose Urena, the Zephyrs' starting pitcher involved in the altercation, has been suspended for seven games. Reliever Nefi Ogando will serve a five-game suspension upon the conclusion of Urena's penalty, and manager Arnie Beyeler has been suspended for one game.

All three Zephyrs were ejected, along with Redbirds pitcher Juan Gonzalez and outfielders Jeremy Hazelbaker and Jose Martinez, when the teams' benches emptied during the fifth inning of Monday's game.
