Captains Six-Game Home Stand Features Fireworks, Election-Themed Jersey Auction and James A. Garfield Bobble Head Giveaway

(Eastlake, OH) - Captains will begin a six-game home stand on Wednesday, July 13th when the Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins) visit Classic Park. The Quad Cities River Bandits (Houston Astros) will conclude the home stand with a weekend series. 

The home stand opens Wednesday night with a "meal on us" Wednesday. Fans can purchase one ticket and one meal voucher good for a hot dog or hamburger, chips and a fountain soda for only $10 in advance of the game date. The same deal can be purchased on the day of the game for only $12. This promotion is available online only. First pitch is at 7 PM with gates opening at 6:00 PM.

Thursday is a special 11:00 AM start and many summer camps will be in attendance. Gates will open at 10:00 AM.

Friday the home stand continues with a Friday Fireworks Night presented by Highland Springs. Friday will be the first day of the Captains election-themed, two-day jersey auction. Fans can bid on the jerseys worn by Captains players via silent auction and the winner gets to meet the player and take the jersey off his back at the end of game two on Saturday night. All proceeds of the auction go directly to Captains Charities. Game time is at 7 PM with gates opening at 5:30 PM.

Saturday will be the only scheduled double header of the season. Game one, will begin at 5 PM and the gates will open at 3:30 in the afternoon. Game two will start approximately 30 minutes after game one concludes. In game two, the Captains will once again sport the election-themed jerseys.

Saturday is another Saturday Fireworks Night presented by Monreal Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The Fireworks will be accompanied by Patriotic Music and will be shot off after the conclusion of game-two.

Sunday is a 1 PM Family Fun Sunday game, and new this year is the pre-game catch on the field. Captains Fans will be allowed to play catch in the outfield from 12:00-12:20 PM. Family Fun Sundays include pre-game player autograph sessions, concourse entertainment, and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game. On Sunday, the first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive a James A. Garfield, Captains-themed Bobble Head.

Sunday, is also Princess Day at Classic Park. Kids can meet various Princesses from different movies whom will be in attendance. Fans can purchase a special VIP package, which includes a pizza party and ice cream social from 12 to 1 PM. VIP packages are $25 for kids ($9 for adults) with limited availability.
