Derrick Henry Bobblehead Night Saturday presented by the Jacksonville Sports Council
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry will throw a ceremonial first pitch before the Jacksonville Suns' 6:05 p.m. game at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville for Nassau County Night Saturday, when the first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a bobblehead of Henry.
Presented by the Jacksonville Sports Council, the bobblehead depicts Henry in the Heisman pose, wearing his Yulee High School Hornets uniform. Henry broke the national high school career rushing record with 12,124 career yards in four seasons as a Hornet. He won the 2012 Maxwell Club National High School Player of the Year award. Henry was also a basketball and track star at Yulee High.
Henry played three seasons at the University of Alabama, where he set a program record with 3,591 career rushing yards after leading the nation last season with 2,219 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns - both Southeastern Conference single-season records. In addition to winning the 2015 Heisman Trophy, Henry won the Doak Walker, Maxwell, and Walter Camp Player of the Year Awards, and he was a unanimous first-team All-American. Henry and the Crimson Tide capped the season by winning the 2015 College Football Playoff Championship in January.
In April, the Tennessee Titans selected Henry in the second round (45th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. The Titans begin the 2016 preseason schedule Aug. 13 against San Diego and the regular season at home Sept. 11 against Minnesota.
The first 1,000 fans through the gates of the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville that evening will receive a Derrick Henry bobblehead. Gates open to the public at 5 p.m. Saturday for the scheduled 6:05 p.m. game between the Suns and Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
