Gigantic Reasons to Spend this Massive Weekend with the Biscuits

July 13, 2016

The Biscuits return home to Montgomery for a MASSIVE weekend beginning Thursday after a long 10-game road trip. Make your plans now for what will be enormous fun!

1. The Biscuits are Hot!

The Biscuits are hot and we're not just talking about the one's for sale at the Biscuit Cart. Currently battling for the top of the standings in the North Division, the Biscuits' pitching and bats have been sizzling. Monday night, the Biscuits made the history books when pitchers, Steve Ascher, Jared Mortensen, Jordan Harrison and Kyle Winkler threw for the first ever combined no-hitter in team history.

The talent is loaded in Montgomery with 9 of the Tampa Bay Rays top-30 prospects filling the roster including the newest arrival, Rays number 2 prospect, right-handed pitcher Brent Honeywell. Rays top-pitching prospect, Taylor Guerrieri, went 5-0 in June and is tied for second in wins with 8, and top-pitching prospect Chih-Wei Hu has the fourth best ERA in the league at 2.51. The Rays number 3 prospect, Willy Adames, leads the Southern League in runs and the Biscuits lead the league in doubles, home runs, total bases and stolen bases. The Biscuits will look to continue their rise this weekend as they battle it out against the Tennessee Smokies, the AA affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

2. Celebrate the greatest television comedy of the century Thursday!

Put on your Urban Sombrero and button up your Puffy Shirt because we are celebrating the biggest television comedy to ever hit the airwaves with Seinfeld Night on Thursday! It's also a Thirsty Thursday Pub Crawl with drink specials every inning and $2 beer, water, soda and pretzel specials all night!

3. Largest worship gathering of the weekend!

Gather your friends and family and join the Biscuits and Faith Radio for Family Faith Night on Friday night! This night of praise and worship includes a pre-game concert by Patrick Dopson and a post-game Faith-themed MAX Fireworks Show! Gates open at 5:30pm and the concert will begin at 5:45pm.

4. The Force is Strong with this weekend's MASSIVE MAX Fireworks Show!

Saturday, at a stadium in a galaxy far, far away, the Republic (Biscuits) will battle the Empire (Smokies) at 6:35pm on Star Wars Night. Over 20 characters from this fan favorite movie will be on-hand for photo opportunities. Fans should come dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters to participate in a pre-game parade around the field at 6:00pm. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets to try and win great prizes like a baseball bat light saber signed by the entire Biscuits team. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the River Region United Way.

Post-game fans will enjoy a Star Wars themed, MASSIVE MAX Fireworks Show of the Month! With more boom and more bang dancing across the sky, you'll leave in awe!

5. Fun for Everyone on Sunday

The promotions are packed for Sunday's 5:35pm game.

The dogs are taking over Riverwalk Stadium on Sunday for another Bark in the Park! Dog and their owners can participate in a pre-game Dog Parade at 5:00pm. One four-legged friend admitted per paying adult.

It's also Kids Day! Kids can play Catch on the Field from 4:30-5:00pm and post-game Run the Bases presented by Coca Col

Sunday, kids can also participate in the Home Run Reading Program presented by Poarch Creek Indians by joining Big Mo and a Biscuits player in the Biscuits auxiliary locker room at 4:45pm. The player will share his favorite book and be available for photos and autographs. Each child will receive a PCI Home Run Reading Program bookmark. Participants may sign up here.

Also on Sunday, the Biscuits will host a special Pokémon Go promotion where Lure Modules will be active at the Riverwalk Stadium Pokéstop all game long and trainers will have the opportunity to catch Pokémon pre-game on the field.

6. Riverwalk Stadium Becomes One Giant Splash Zone!

The Biscuits end the five-game series against Tennessee with a lunch game on Monday! A noon first pitch time in July in Alabama calls for one thing, water! Grab the kids and bring them to Summer Splash Day! The seating bowl will be transformed into one giant splash zone as we pull out the slip and slide and launch water balloons into the stands!

Don't want to get soaked? No problem. There will be designated splash free zones and business people can take advantage of our Businessperson Special. For only $8, enjoy a BBQ plate with pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, biscuit and a Coca Cola drink in the Club Car Bar.
