Mudcats and Hillcats Suspended in Zebulon
ZEBULON, NC - Wednesday's game between the Carolina Mudcats and Lynchburg Hillcats was first delayed due to rain and then eventually suspended after the second inning due to wet grounds at Five County Stadium. The game will resume in it entirety as part of a de facto doubleheader on Thursday beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Game one of the doubleheader will begin in the third inning and will be played through its entirety. The second game will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one and will be a shortened, seven inning game.
Wednesday's game was tied 0-0 after the second before heavy rain stopped play. Ryan Clark started for Carolina and worked through two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Justus Sheffield started for the Hillcats and finished with two walks, one hit allowed and one strikeout over two scoreless innings.
Enderson Franco (5-6, 4.47) will pitch in place of Clark when game one is resumed beginning in the third inning on Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m.
