Tickets on sale March 17

March 12, 2007
The much anticipated opening of the PNC Field Box Office for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees individual game tickets will take place on Saturday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets will be available in person at PNC Field's box office, online at swbyankees.com or ticketmaster.com, over the phone by calling Ticketmaster at 570-693-4100 or at any Boscov's or Gallery of Sound Ticketmaster outlet in NEPA.

Tickets for all 72 home games will be available when the box office opens including the Yankees inaugural game on Opening Night April 5 vs. Norfolk, July 4 against the Pawtucket Red Sox, eleven fireworks nights and four entertainment acts. Tickets for most games will be limited due to the initial demand for season and group ticket packages.

The box office opening is part of a much larger St. Patrick's Day FanFest at PNC Field.

The day long event will feature an autograph signing by former Yankees great Tommy John from 1:00 - 3:00, "kids zones" with face painting, speed pitch and batting cage sessions plus tours of the Yankees clubhouse and party boxes.

Fans interested in ticket packages such as the Yankees all-you-can-eat Champions Plan will be able to pick their seats for the season on the 17th as well. A few lower level full, half and partial season ticket packages also remain.

St. Patrick's Day themed Yankees merchandise will also be for sale in the team store as well as other Yankees items. The Stadium Club Restaurant will be serving St. Patrick's Day themed food and drink specials throughout the day.

"We fully expect this to be the biggest event of the off-season so far and that is saying a lot" said Yankees Executive VP/COO Jeremy Ruby. "Every event we have held since announcing our affiliation with the Yankees has exceeded our expectations. Based on the volume of ticket sales we have experienced, our individual game sales should shatter all previous records."

"By adding the Ticketmaster system and their multiple outlets in Northeastern Pennsylvania, our fans will have many more options to purchase tickets and enable us to handle the expected increase in sales," he added.

The Yankees will play each team in their division 16 times while facing non-division foes eight times apiece. Two big rivalries to watch out for in 2007 will be against the affiliates of the Phillies and Red Sox.

The Ottawa Lynx, the Phillies new Triple-A affiliate, will visit PNC Field April 24-26, July 6-8 and August 27-28 while the Pawtucket Red Sox visit May 7-10, July 4-5 and August 8-9.

The PNC Field Box Office will be open 10-4 on Saturday, 10-5 M-F and from 10:00 a.m. to the end of the game on game days.
