FAN GUIDE: Bisons Star Wars Night
Star Wars Night Episode IV, presented by Alfred State College, is Saturday, July 23 as the Bisons host the Gwinnett Braves at Coca-Cola Field. Now in its ninth year, the game and the events surrounding it have become one of Western New York's favorite summer traditions!
With so much going on in one night, it's understandable if you need a little assistance to guide you through all there is to see and do… And, since most of us don't have a pair of droids handy to help us, here's this year's Star Wars Night Fan Guide!
Tickets!?
Star Wars Night is SOLD OUT! There are no more tickets remaining for this year's event.
First Pitch/Gates
Note that the Bisons have a special first pitch time of 6:05 p.m. for the start of the game against the Gwinnett Braves. Gates will 2 hours early (4:00pm) because of all of the additional activities throughout Coca-Cola Field.
And because of the expected crowd, fans are advised to leave a little extra time when arriving at the ballpark. If you are using the ballpark's Will Call, the Box Office will open at 10:00 a.m. if you want to get your tickets a little earlier in the day to avoid longer lines closer to game time. Fans should also be aware that all bags will be checked upon entering Coca-Cola Field gates and additional time will be needed for searches. Where do I get a laser sword?
A must-have keepsake on Star Wars Night is your very own Laser Sword. The Bisons will be selling laser swords outside of the Coca-Cola Field prior to gates opening to provide an additional laser sword location. Once you are inside the ballpark we will once again have two Laser Sword Redemption/Purchase Centers at stand 121 on the 3rd base side and near section 122 on the 1st base side.
A Laser Sword costs $7 each with proceeds to benefit Compass House.
I bought a 4-Pack. Where do I get food?
Avoid lines at the concession stands and use the Food Coupon Redemption Centers. You can get your hot dog and Coca-Cola in the concourse area near the Washington Street Gate (near section 106), section 119 on the third base side, 122 on the first base side and on the club level near section 213.
Even if you don't have a 4-Pack, the Redemption Centers are a great spot to grab a quick hot dog and/or a Coca-Cola if that's what you are looking for!
Special Star Wars Merchandise
Caps are special to baseball and you can still purchase a Buffalo Bisons Star Wars Cap! This one of a kind limited edition cap will can be purchased at the New Era Team Shop.
Already have a cap? Check out the new Bisons themed Star Wars T-Shirts that will be available for the first time on Star Wars Night at the ballpark. Own one you must.
Jersey Auction/Raffle and 50/50
One of the most iconic figures returns this year and he brought his ride. Darth Vader and his TIE Advanced starfighter jersey is a must have for any member of the Sith…or Jedi? These uniforms will be autographed by each player as soon as they come off the field after the game.
Some of the jerseys were auctioned on Bisons.com leading up to Star Wars Night, but don't worry if you missed out on them. There will also be a Jersey Raffle of at least 15 additional game-worn and autographed Bisons Star Wars Night jerseys (number is dependent on the number of players on the team that night). Raffle tickets will one (1) for ten dollars ($10) or three (3) for twenty dollars ($20) with proceeds to benefit Compass House. Purchase your raffle ticket near the Washington Street gate close to section 104, or see the Compass House Volunteers roaming the ballpark.
You can also test your luck and help runaway youths by purchasing a 50/50 RAFFLE at the Swan Street Gate.
Meet the Characters
Close to 50 Characters will be appearing throughout the night and will be available for pictures at the Washington Street gate. Characters will be available from 4:45pm up until the 6th inning. Characters will also be roaming throughout the ballpark, including on the Coca-Cola Field club level.
