Bulls Lose Late Lead, Rally For 10-Inning Win Again

Varona's Single Delivers 4th Straight Win, 7-6

Rochester, NY --- For the second straight game, the Durham Bulls blew a late lead only to beat the Rochester Red Wings in 10 innings, 7-6 at Frontier Field on Tuesday night.

Dayron Varona singled home Casey Gillaspie with the winning run as the Bulls (44-54) claimed their fourth straight win and remained hot on the heels of first-place Charlotte one game behind in the South.

Durham led 6-1 into the eighth before the Red Wings rallied to tie the game against reliver Steve Geltz. James Beresford singled home two runs ahead of a three-run homer by Jorge Polanco that knotted the game 6-6.

Eddie Gamboa worked six innings, allowing one run during a very efficient start. Casey Coleman (W, 1-1) notched the win with Ryne Stanek touching 100mph during his first Triple-A save.

Jake Hager, Gillaspie, Varona and Jaff Decker each had two hits for the Bulls.

Durham aims for a three-game sweep on Wednesday morning at 11:05 AM ET. Jacob Faria will start for the Bulls.
