Division Winning RiverDogs Go Fins Up, Try and "Catch 'Em All" in Upcoming Homestand

Pokemon Go, Jimmy Buffet Night highlight upcoming homestand
July 25, 2016

CHARLESTON, SC - Pack your pokeballs, turn your cap backwards and wear your best Hawaiian shirt as the South Atlantic League playoff-bound Charleston RiverDogs are back in town as they try to "catch 'em all" in a four-game homestand in paradise at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park from July 28-31.

Returning from a weeklong road stint, the RiverDogs return home for a four-game set with the Lexington Legends, the Class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, as they celebrate a Pokémon GO Night, chill out on the beach with a fireworks show to the tunes of Jimmy Buffett, and show off Charleston pride on a Holy City Sunday.

Thursday, July 28, 7:05pm: Budweiser Thirsty Thursday / Pokémon GO Night: Join the RiverDogs and hordes of aspiring trainers as The Joe becomes the hottest Pokémon gym in Charleston. Enjoy dollar drafts all night as you jam to the tunes of DJ Natty Heavy and keep your eyes peeled for the prized Pokémon peppered throughout the Ashley View Pub. There will be lures dropped throughout the stadium and social media tips directing you to all the hot spots where those pesky virtual critters are hiding. While supplies last, fans that show screenshots of them trying to "catch 'em all" in the park will receive a free t-shirt at the guest services booth.

Friday, July 29, 7:05pm: Red Shirt Friday / Postgame Fireworks to the Music of Jimmy Buffett: Friday night is the place to be for all Lowcountry's Parrott Heads with Jimmy Buffett's best hits that will provide the backdrop for another Home Telecom postgame fireworks spectacular following the contest against Lexington. It will also be an ISHPI Red Shirt Friday with the RiverDogs wearing specialty red uniforms to honor the armed forces. Fans that wear red can save a buck on their ticket purchase at the gate with the option to donate that dollar to the Wounded Warrior Corps.

Saturday, July 30, 6:05pm: Saturdays Live at The Joe / Women in Sports Night/Mt. Pleasant Night: Join in "With the Crowd" in a summer series of postgame showcases as the RiverDogs present Women in Sports Night in the latest edition of Saturdays Live at The Joe. Following the game, there will be the premiere of Fox's new show "Pitch," that follows the fictional story of the first woman to play in Major League Baseball. Stick around for postgame player autographs from the RiverDogs. It's also Mt. Pleasant Community night at the ballpark presented by Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. Get to the gates early; there will be a tote bag giveaway for the first 500 fans presented by World Express Courier and a special appearance by Scrappy from Patriots Point.

Sunday, July 31, 5:05pm: Holy City Sunday: The RiverDogs embrace Charleston's "Holy City" moniker that has defined the community as a place of unity for centuries. The club will wear specialty uniforms that proudly display the "Holy City" namesake across their pinstriped tops with the 'HC' emblem on the caps. It's also a Kids Club Sunday where all Kid's Club members get in free. In association with Charleston County Parks & Recreation, and Y102.5, Sunday features free parking and Lowcountry youth eat free and can enjoy pregame catch on the field.
