Two FIREWORKS shows highlight the July 29-Aug. 2 homestand

The State College Spikes return home to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for a five-game homestand from this Friday, July 29 to Tuesday, August 2. Highlights of the homestand include Saturday's Bark in the Park, Sunday's Paint the Park Pink Night to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer, and two thrilling FIREWORKS shows this weekend.

The fun begins on Friday at when the Spikes continue a crucial New York-Penn League series against the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies) with a 7:05 p.m. game. VisitMyrtleBeach.com presents all of the fun as one lucky fan 18 and up will win a Myrtle Beach Trip Giveaway, and the skies will light up after the game with a fantastic FIREWORKS display.

Fans can also take advantage of the 4 for $44 Friday Northwest Family Value Ticket Package, with four Diamond Club or Field Box seats, four hot dogs and four small sodas available for just $44 thanks to Northwest and MAJIC 99.

Saturday, fans can bring their four-legged friends to the ballpark for the second Bark in the Park Night of the year, presented by Metzger Animal Hospital, NEWSRADIO 1390 WRSC and the Centre Daily Times.

The night will include several dog-related promotions and activities throughout the evening, including dog-themed in-game entertainment and music before and during the 7:05 p.m. game against Williamsport, as well as the chance for dogs and kids to run the bases after the game, presented by Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc.

The West Virginia Black Bears (Pittsburgh Pirates) then come to town to start a three-game series on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. for Paint the Park Pink Night, presented by Mount Nittany Health. The Spikes will take the field in special Pink Cheetah Jerseys, symbolizing the speed at which we hope to find a cure and eradicate breast cancer from our lives. The jerseys will then go up for bids in a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction to benefit the Breast Care Center at Mount Nittany Medical Center through The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center.

In addition, the first 1,000 fans on Sunday when gates open to the public at 5 p.m. will receive a Pink Hat Giveaway, and fans can enjoy another fantastic FIREWORKS show after the game.

The month of August then starts with Monday Buck Night, presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ, as the Spikes take on the Black Bears at 7:05 p.m. Fans can get into the park with $1 Outfield Bleacher seats, then enjoy $1 hot dogs, $1 small sodas and $1 peanut boats throughout the game.

The homestand concludes on Tuesday with the annual Super Splash Day game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, as Ike's Kids Zone turns into the Splash Zone for kids of all ages. First pitch between the Spikes and Black Bears will be at noon, and fans can enjoy another $2 Walking Taco Tuesday, presented by B94.5.
