Blake Rutherford Wins POTW Honors

Pulaski Yankees' outfielder Blake Rutherford picked up Appalachian Player Of The Week honors announced by Minor League Baseball on Monday. Rutherford was named position player of the week for the week of July 25-31 while Cristian Castillo from the Burlington Royals picked up pitcher of the week. This season Rutherford has compiled a .446 batting average with seven doubles, four triples, a home run, and six RBIs. He had two four-hit games this week including falling just short of the cycle on the 27th.
