Fans Shatter Omaha Baseball Attendance Mark
In all, attendance is up 10.6 percent from a season ago, when the franchise eclipsed the 400,000 fan plateau for the first time in a decade and the ninth time since Omaha became home to the Kansas City Royals' Triple-A affiliate in 1969. Werner Park has already seen nine games with 5,000 or more fans, whereas Rosenblatt had only had three games over the 5,000 mark through 19 home dates last year.
"Werner Park and the talented team on the field have been strong attractions," said Martie Cordaro, the Storm Chasers Vice President/General Manager. "With 52 games remaining, there are many different promotions for all to enjoy."
Fans who visit Werner Park are being treated to a sporting experience they can't find anywhere else in the region, from the Centris Family Fun Zone with carousel and bounce houses, to the Quality Brands Downdraught Bar with the "Bottoms Up" beer dispenser, to the Borsheims Whiffleball Diamond. The product on the field has been successful as well, with the Storm Chasers leading their division by three games entering Monday's tilt against the Tucson Padres.
Tickets are available for each of the remaining 52 home games this season at Werner Park, although seats are going fast for several of the premium dates, including Independence Weekend (July 1-3), the Werner Enterprises concert featuring Jack Ingram and Heidi Newfield (July 15) and the 13 remaining fireworks nights. To purchase seats, fans can visit the Werner Park ticket office, call (402) 738-5100 or go online at www.omahastormchasers.com.
