Hawks to hold National Anthem tryouts

BOISE, ID- "Oh say can you sing?" Do you have what it takes to sing the National Anthem at Memorial Stadium? The Boise Hawks are searching for Treasure Valley's musical talent! The Hawks are holding National Anthem tryouts Saturday, June 4 from 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at Memorial Stadium, located at 5600 N. Glenwood Street. All singers and musicians are welcome.

Tryouts are open to the public; and prospective anthem singers can show up any time between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. There is no pre-registration required, and no age limit to participate.

Each audition will take place in front of the Boise Hawks staff, and the selected candidates will earn a chance to perform in front of thousands of fans during one of the Hawks 38 home games during the 2011 season. Selected candidates will be notified by phone.

The Hawks began Northwest League play as an independent club from 1987-89. The team was affiliated with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from 1990-2000 and have been with the Chicago Cubs since 2001. The club has won 6 NWL Championships, the most recent banner coming in 2004.
