$2 Tuesday, HR Derby, Hat Giveaway highlight Crosstown Showdown

LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts officially announce that the 10th Annual Crosstown Showdown presented by Auto Owners Insurance between the Lugnuts and the Michigan State Spartans on Tuesday, September 6th, at Cooley Law School Stadium, will now be headlined by a triple play of entertainment:

•          $2 Tuesday: Enjoy $2 draft beers and $2 drink specials!
•          HR Derby: Three players from each team will compete in a Home Run Derby at 5:30 pm!
•          Hat Giveaway: The first 2,000 fans will receive a Spartan-green Lugnuts baseball cap!

"This is for you, the community," said Lansing Lugnuts general manager Nick Grueser. "For the past nine years, the Crosstown Showdown has hosted the most popular games in the history of Cooley Law School Stadium. This year, we're giving you even more of what you want, alongside a celebration of baseball from East Lansing to Lansing to the entire Mid Michigan region."

The game, starting at 7:05 p.m., will feature surprise guest stars from Michigan State University in addition to premier Major League Baseball prospects.

Major Leaguers who have taken part in prior Crosstown Showdowns include reigning National League Rookie of the Month Ryan Schimpf (San Diego Padres), Jake Marisnick (Houston Astros), Daniel Norris (Detroit Tigers) and current Toronto Blue Jays Roberto Osuna, Kevin Pillar and Aaron Sanchez.
