Consigli and House Come Up Big in 5-4 Win

BELOIT, WI (May 25, 2011)-The Burlington Bees (32-14) got an RBI single from RF Royce Consigli (1-5) in the seventh inning to snap a 3-3 tie and earn a 5-4 win over the Beloit Snappers (21-25) at Pohlman Field on Wednesday night. CF Tyreace House (1-1) hit the game-winning double in the eighth inning to give Burlington the win.

The Snappers scored a single run in the first inning. CF Wang-Wei Lin (1-2) doubled and scored on a single by 2B Jamal Hawkins (1-4) for a 1-0 lead.

The Bees tied the game in the fourth inning. LF Douglas Landaeta (2-5) singled and moved to second base when 3B Tony Thompson (1-5) singled. 1B Josh Whitaker (0-4) flew out to center field to move Landaeta to third base. SS Yordy Cabrera (1-1) flew out to right field to allow Landaeta to score for a 1-1 tie.

SS Daniel Santana (1-4) smacked a two-run double off of Burlington RHP Blake Hassebrock (4-0) in the fourth inning to make it 3-1 Beloit.

In the sixth inning Burlington tied the game by scoring two runs. 2B Nino Leyja (1-4) doubled and scored on a single by Landaeta. He moved to third base when Thompson reached on an error. Cabrera lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to score Landaeta and make it 3-3.

In the seventh inning CF Jose Rivero (1-3) led off the inning with a single. House came into the game to pinch-run for Rivero. After a sacrifice bunt by C John Nester (0-2) moved House to second base, Consigli singled home House for a 4-3 lead.

House hit an RBI double in the eighth inning to score Cabrera and make it 5-3.

In the eighth inning, House smacked a double down the right field line to score Cabrera from second base and make it 5-4.

RHP Daniel Tenholder surrendered one run on one hit in the ninth inning but struck out four men to earn his seventh save of the season.

The Bees and Snappers finish their series on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. RHP Josh Bowman (4-1, 3.66) gets the start for Burlington against RHP A.J. Achter (0-0, 0.00) for Beloit. Pre-game coverage starts at 10:40 a.m. online at gobees.com. There will be no game broadcast on AM 1490 KBUR Thursday morning.
