Jack Clark to throw out first pitch

MEMPHIS, TN - Saturday, May 28 former first baseman of the St. Louis Cardinals Jack Clark will be signing autographs in the plaza of AutoZone Park from 5:00-5:30 and will throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the game.

Clark, also known as "Jack the Ripper", spent three years with the Cardinals (1985-1987) hitting .274 (299Hx1093AB) while collecting 216 RBI and 198 runs in 322 games. Although his fielding was never known as his specialty, Clark played a pivotal role in the 1985 World Series. The first baseman also played his best season while with the Cardinals in 1987 hitting .286 with 35 home runs, 106 RBI while leading the National League in on-base percentage (.459) and slugging percentage (.597) despite missing 31 games due to injuries.
