August 21, 2016

LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws and the OceanFirst Foundation are teaming up to help Strike Out Hunger at the BlueClaws game on Tuesday, August 23rd.

For each strikeout of a Greensboro hitter by BlueClaws pitching, OceanFirst Foundation will donate $100 to Move For Hunger.

Move For Hunger is a national organization that packages unwanted, non-perishable food items when people are set to move, and re-locates the food to the local pantry. From there, the donations are sorted and delivered to local families in need.

"Move for Hunger is a wonderful organization and we are pleased to partner with them, helping to raise money to fight hunger at the Jersey Shore," said Kathy Durante, the Executive Director of OceanFirst Foundation.

Plus, the Phillie Phanatic will be at the game, entertaining fans throughout the night, as he's done since 1978. He is considered one of the best mascots in all of sports.

The BlueClaws and OceanFirst Foundation also partner on Home Runs for Heroes, a program through which OceanFirst Foundation donates to a local military-based non-profit each time the BlueClaws hit a home run at FirstEnergy Park. The program has raised over $200,000 since its inception in 2009.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore's top stop for affordable, family entertainment. They have led the South Atlantic League and New Jersey in attendance in all 15 years of existence.
